Review an app related to study skills
From now on, I am going to recommend an app that is very helpful for studying English. As a person I've used for a year and still using this app, I think I can give you a very realistic review of this. It's an app called Learn English with WSE, which is run by the Wall Street English. From now on, we will look at what features the app has and how it can help you study English.
The app is characterized by showing each learner's grade and progress. The app has a total of 80 units within a total of 20 levels, and each unit consists of Lesson 1,2,3 and checkpoint. Among them, one level consists of four units. At the end of each level, the scores, the overall time required, and completeness of the units are easily summarized. Specifically, you can see the time and performance required for each lesson, and my score evaluated in each field of English. Like this, pressing the Grades&progress button shows the specific progress of my level, unit, lesson. Also, it is very good for setting up your long-term learning plan because it compares and analyzes how much your progress is compared to other learners.
The app covers all areas of English overall, although programs for speaking English, especially conversation, are central. For example, one Lesson first takes about five quizzes through listening to a particular situation through a video, learns the grammar of the day, and memorizes the relevant example sentences in the video. Therefore, the subject, story, grammar, etc. are all different for each Lesson, so it seems to be more interesting. After the following part, there is an exercise to summarize what you have learned for each lesson, and the types of quizzes are very diverse as shown below. Also, after one unit, you can write a topic-specific description of what you have learned for each of the lessons through the digital book.
However, there are very practical limitations to this app. First of all, the app was developed and managed by Wall Street English, so it is only available if you go to an academy. In other words, the biggest drawback is that it is not a free app and not an app that anyone can use freely. However, I think it is worth it enough because the tutors manage the learning progress well and after each unit, there is a 1:1 class where native English speakers check the learning status of the unit themselves. Therefore, I strongly recommend this app to those who want to improve their basic English skills clearly and systematically while being financially comfortable.
Reflection: This assignment was difficult in a slightly different sense from other tasks. Because I didn't have any apps or learning sites that I was using to study. Although I introduced the app as the only one I'm using, I'm a little disappointed that I didn't have many choices based on my standards. However, I was happy to learn about the features and functions of the app that I didn't know about for a year through this task. As a person who will continue to study English through this app, I am grateful that I have gained new information about the app through my assignment. In the future, I will try to make more active use of the various information I have learned through this assignment.
